Welcome to Pamela Randal Fine Art online: NEW WORK ADDED WEEKLY, plus you can follow the Facebook Business page (click the FB button) for daily news, including smaller paintings that don't often go on this website, as they sell fast! (not on Facebook? you can still check out the page and online shop, or just email and ask for photos of current stock)

**NEWS: From August 2019 I am gradually retiring, all paintings online weekly now, commissions also limited, and only one or two events. Check the 'new work' section here - updated now every Friday, and Facebook page Monday to Fridays including small items, work in progress, etc.

After many successful years selling at events and galleries, I now sell mainly online from my studio, at direct-from-the-artist prices. Gallery mark-up is around 100%, many sadly don't update web pages or use social media, or keep up with internet growth. Customers can quickly look up artists online, and I believe people really want to get affordable original art, so I now prefer to deal directly. Everything I make is on highest-grade canvas, professionally finished, either framed or mounted/wrapped, and posted worldwide.

These pages have all my info, dates of events, terms of sale, frames, posting.......and lots of gorgeous, bright colour-filled original art - enjoy!

More details...……… all kinds of stuff about me and my work:
I have been a professional artist for many years, studying in Hampshire and in Glasgow, originally working as a textile designer, before demand grew and I made the decision to concentrate my work solely on painting.
Exhibiting extensively across the UK, including several sold-out exhibitions, I am very pleased to have many
collectors who love my work - including celebrities, politicians, and companies; with customers in the USA,
across Europe, and in Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, etc.

Design and art work has been commissioned and purchased by - among many others - The National Trust for Scotland,
Glasgow Galleries and Museums, Scottish Tourist Board, the Edinburgh Festival Company, and for castles, hotels,
company offices, and for private collectors around the world.
Selected as one of 12 artists for the Scottish Artists Gallery at the John Lewis store in Glasgow.
Gallery exhibitions: include several in Glasgow, plus Helensburgh, Ayrshire, Stirling, Perthshire,
Yorkshire, Lancashire, Bristol, etc. and several solo shows at Gleneagles.
My art has been featured often in various magazines and newspapers, including commissioned artwork, and I have several times
been described as 'one of the modern Scottish colourists.'

As well as taking part in numerous art fairs, events and exhibitions all over the UK, I have organised and run successful
art and design events, designed and managed pop-up galleries, and as a small business owner have taken part in the EU Conference of Entrepreneurs/SME's in Brussels, as a delegate and invited speaker as part of the group from Strathclyde University.

I paint mainly in acrylics and mixed media, sometimes oils, usually on canvas, some on heavyweight watercolour paper. I work by building up many layers and fine glazes of colour, often using collage pieces, inks, oil pastel, plus my signature use of gold, copper and various texture media, so all my paintings are infused with light and glowing colours.

I never allow prints or licencing for images of my work, despite frequent requests from printers and publishers. All my paintings have depth, light and shade, subtle shifts of colour, none of which would show in a printed copy. Everything I produce is an original-only, one-of-a-kind piece of art.

I'm inspired by the light and ever-changing scenery around me here in Scotland, as well as the warm shades of
Tuscany and the Mediterranean, and I continually experiment with ideas and different techniques, developing new work.
I live by the sea, surrounded by hills, lochs and mountains, and wonderful islands from Arran to the Hebrides and beyond.
Added to that, just playing around with a variety of paints and texture medium, collaging paper and fabric,
mixing pure pigments and gold leaf, splashing and layering colour, is a wonderful way to earn a living!
(Quote from an artist I always identify with....'So, what do you make?' 'Well, apart from a lot of mess.....')
