Original Scottish contemporary fine art
new work online: affordable originals only - never prints - at half gallery prices

Come and see me at my local solo exhibition days, in the lovely Hermitage Park Pavilion (with great restaurant just next door, plus farmers market on in the town square, same days!) here in Helensburgh: all dates on the 'new work for sale' page.
I paint every day, layering canvas with glowing colour and infusing scenes with shimmering light, inspired by Scotland in all seasons; big bright skies,
colourful woodlands, fields and hills, lochs and mountains; misty island seascapes; and the glorious mass of wildflower meadows - the 'machair' of the West coast islands; and always one-of-a-kind originals, I never produce prints or cards.
more about me:-
I have been a professional artist for many years, studying in Hampshire and in Glasgow,
originally working as a textile designer. After a long successful career over the years, selling at events
and in galleries, I now sell direct from my studio on the West coast of Scotland - online from this
website and Facebook page shop, plus my occasional local 'Open Studio' days. I believe in affordable art for everyone, so with no gallery commission (100% on top of artist price) or event exhibiting costs to cover, the best way to purchase original art is always direct from the artist! Plus postage in the UK is free, airmail to Canada and USA is just at cost.
Exhibiting across the UK, including several sold-out events, I have many collectors including
celebrities and politicians; with customers in the USA, Canada, across Europe, Australia, Ireland, etc.
Design and artwork commissioned by - among others - The National Trust for Scotland,
Glasgow Galleries and Museums dept., Scottish Tourist Board, the Edinburgh Festival Company;
for castles, hotels, company offices, presentations, and private collectors worldwide.
Selected as one of 12 artists for the Scottish Artists Gallery at the John Lewis store in Glasgow.
Gallery exhibitions: Glasgow, Helensburgh, Ayrshire, Stirling, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Bristol, etc.,
including a series of solo shows at Gleneagles.
Regular exhibitor/demonstrator at contemporary art fairs, plus
international horse trials, RHS national flower shows, major annual events at Chatsworth House,
Scone Palace, Glamis Castle, Royal Highland Show, Country Living shows, design/interiors events.
Featured in various magazines and newspapers, including commissioned artwork,
several times described as 'one of the modern Scottish colourists.'
I've also organised many art and design events, designed and managed pop-up galleries, and as a small business owner took part as a delegate and invited speaker in the EU Conference of Entrepreneurs/SME's in Brussels, as part of the group from Strathclyde University.
I never allow prints or licencing for images of my work, despite frequent requests from printers and publishers. My paintings have depth, light and shade, subtle shifts of colour, which would never show in a printed copy - and this means every buyer has a unique original painting.
